Cassie Brown, RVT

Hi there! My name is Cassie Brown and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician that has been working at Countryside Pet Clinic since September 2013. Imported from sunny Florida, I spent much of my early years either as an educator at the Jacksonville Zoo or as a technician in a specialty avian and exotics practice. Birds, exotics, and animal nutrition are where my passion lies. I would like to one day have a VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialty) in Exotic Animal Care. In my spare time I am a freelance artist and video gamer. My husband Colin and I share our home with Ariel the Scarlet Macaw, Artoo the Cockatiel, Mouse the Bourke’s Parakeet, Fiona the Wheaten Terrier, Jaina Poodlemoore the Standard Poodle, Bastet the Siamese Cat, Salazar the snake and Khadgar the Budgerigar.

Kourtney Ludlum, RVT

Hello, my name I Kourtney Ludlum. I graduated in April 2016 from Brown Mackie College with my Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology. I am originally from Rozel, Kansas where I grew up with two older brothers. I moved to Wichita in February 2017 to start my career at Countryside Pet Clinic. I am also mom to my one year old Great Dane/Husky mix named Zelda. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Jess Rush, RVT

Hi! My name is Jess Rush and I joined the Countryside team in March of 2017. I graduated from Bel Rea with an Associates in Veterinary Technology in 2014. I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas with my brother and sister. My brother lives in Texas and has two adorable nieces and my sister lives in Oregon. I have several pets! Xavier, my 7 year old Lab mix who is also a therapy dog, my two crested geckos Zahara and Yeesma, my 15 year old prairie king snake named Herb, who I caught on a fish hook at Lake Afton when I was 12 years old and my African Gray named Junior. This Thanksgiving I will be adding a new puppy Doberman who will be named Kirah. Outside of work I make specialized shadow boxes for those who have lost a beloved pet.


Kirsten Russell, RVT

I have been at Countryside since November 2014. I graduated with my Associate in Animal Science from Brown Mackie in October 2014. I live in Wichita with my husband and son. We have 2 chihuahuas Trixie and Hemi and a great dane named Myla. I mainly do dentistry and really enjoy surgery. I would like to someday get my bachelors or specialize in surgery. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friends!

Samantha Stephens

HI, my name is Samantha Stephens. I am currently doing my undergrad at Wichita State University, working towards becoming a veterinarian myself. I started here at Countryside in March of 2014. I have 3 dogs, a blue heeler named Sam; a great Pyrenees named Layla and a Rottweiler named Kitty. I also have 5 cows & a henhouse full of chickens. I love animals big and small. I look forward to learning more and getting to know all of you here at Countryside before I go to vet school.


Samantha Pickarts

Hi, my name is Samantha Pickarts. I started working as a veterinary assistant in 2001, in Illinois. I moved to Kansas in 2005, and worked in another clinic for 8 years. I started working at Countryside in May of 2014. I absolutely love what I do, and I am blessed to work with such a great team! My husband and I have 3 children, 5 dogs, 1 horse, and a few barn kitties. I look forward to meeting you and your pets.

Tony Stedman

Hi I’m Tony Stedman! I started as a vet assistant here at Countryside in December of 2015. After 20+ years in retail I decided to leave and pursue my passion with animals and I have been very fortunate to end up at Countryside. I feel like I found my dream job! I live with my partner Gregg and our four “kiddos.” We have two Chihuahuas, Chaz and Gidget and two Pomeranians Kona and Evie. Also, our four goldfish, Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sofia. When I’m not working to provide the best care for your furry family member, I am usually at home with my garden and houseplants, or spending time with my friends and family. I look forward to seeing you when you visit the clinic!

Christina Chanthaboury

I started working as a Veterinary Assistant in 2011. I have experience working emergency care as well as general practice. I started working at Countryside in November 2016. My fiancé and I have one child and 2 dogs Bentley and Midnight and 2 cats named Archie and Bruce.



Karen Childs

My name is Karen Childs. I have worked in the front office for 5 years and really enjoy my job. I love visiting with clients and pets that I have known since I started and going through their pet’s life together. My husband, Rob, 2 teenage children, Ben and Lauren and myself moved to the USA in 1995 from England. We have 2 ‘miniature’ schnauzers, Sophie and Stanley and a shy but lovable cat, Holly. In my limited spare time, I enjoy going out with friends, cooking and interior design.


Robin Long

Hello! My name is Robin Long. I began working at Countryside Pet Clinic in March of 2014. I have a very different employment background but I really enjoy working at CPC. My husband and I have 3 grown children, 4 grandchildren and Percy whom we adopted from the Kansas Humane Society. I look forward to seeing you soon!


Jennifer Torgerson

My name is Jennifer Torgerson and I am one of the clinics new Client Care Coordinators. I started working at Countryside in May of 2014 and I love interacting with the clients and their pets. I love offering my assistance in helping them care for their pets. My husband Doug and I have three children (Noah, Luke and Emma) and one Siberian Husky (Scout). Looking forward to assisting you in any way I can here at Countryside.

Chad Rico

Hello! My name is Chad Rico and I’m 28 years old. I’m currently attending the WSU Social Work Program where I where eventually receive my Master’s Degree in Social Work and Marriage & Family Therapy. I have two dogs that take up most of my free time; an American Dingo named Sam and also a Blue Merle Pomeranian named Gaston. In my free time I’m a professional movie goer, Netflix watcher, and book reader. Eventually, I would like to leave Wichita and live somewhere in the Pacific Northwest or Denver area. Can’t wait to see you all soon!

Debbie Van Meter

I’ve been with Countryside Pet Resort for four years. I spend a majority of my time in doggy daycare, but help in the kennel when needed. I enjoy working in a place where everyone has a common interest, the love of animals. I have six indoor cats and a Bishon named Harley. I’ve been married to Bob for 35 years and we have two grown children Bobby and Brandy. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening, attending WSU basketball games, and visiting my grandchildren.

Chaneia Carley

My name is Chaneia Carley and I’m 21 years old. I’ve been a part of the CPR team since September 2014. Ever since I was a young girl I have always wanted to work with animals and my passion for them is still there! I have a two year old bearded dragon named Sonic and a 15 year old cat named Weasel. We all would love to have your pup in doggy daycare or have your furry friend stay for the weekend. Please come visit us at the resort!

Addison Gauthier

Hi! My name is Addison Gauthier! I grew up with a passion to take care of animals, which is why I am going to attend Kansas State University and pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine. I live on a family farm where we have a variety of farm animals, including 6 dogs and 4 outdoor cats! I personally have a female Mastiff/Catahoula cross named Kya who is my baby! I love working at Countryside Pet Resort and would love to have your dogs in daycare or board with us anytime! Looking forward to meeting you!

Jill Snyder

Hello! My name is Jill Snyder! I have always had a love for animals. This passion brought me to Countryside in 2015. I have a Chinese Shar Pei named Juju and a Cockapoo named Mocha. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets and help them have a great time at our resort!

Eugene Hudson

Hi everyone! My name is Eugene Housdon and I’m new to Countryside pet clinic in Andover. I am a Physical Therapist Assistant, with an Associate’s degree in applied science in PTA from Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I completed my prerequisite course work here in Kansas at Wichita State University with a focus on Exercise Science.

My past work experiences have been working with humans in Physical Therapy in several specializations including a rehabilitation hospital in Kansas, A community hospital in Nebraska, and out-patient clinics in Wyoming. Veterinarian Rehabilitation is a specialty that I have been interested in for a long time.

I have been married for over 10 years to my lovely wife Merrie, and we have four furry children of our own. A Rough Collie name Tucker, Shetland Sheepdog name Daisy, and two gray tabby litter mates Brennan and Booth. My passion for animals has been with me my entire life along with rehabilitation. I have worked in the medical field for over 8 years and one of my absolute favorite hobbies is working with saltwater aquatics and reefs, along with mountain hiking. I am excited to be part of Countryside’s team and I cannot wait to work with you and your pets in the near future
